FAQ's
How long until my order is sent?
As each item is dyed to order in batches of 3-4 skeins, and as Laneway only has one employee (me!), please allow 2-4 weeks for your yarn to be dyed, dried and packaged before it is shipped.
Most orders will be posted well before this time, but having this buffer saves me from being unable to meet expectations when I have a large number of orders to work through or in case life happens. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
Do you accept returns?
Yes. You can return your order within 14 days of receiving it. All items must be unused and in their original packaging - this includes the yarn being hanked and with all tags/labels and ties intact.
If you wish to return all or part of an order, please send me an email with a copy of your receipt to lanewayfibres@gmail.com.
For change of mind returns, the customer is responsible for covering the costs of return shipping.
How much is shipping?
All orders are sent from Australia, and total shipping costs will depend on where your yarn is being sent to and the size of your order. Exact shipping costs are calculated at checkout.
Australian orders over $150 AUD will receive free standard shipping.
Is my parcel tracked?
Yes. All orders include tracked shipping.
What if my parcel arrives damaged?
Thankfully yarn is soft and squishy so it is unlikely to become damaged during shipping!
If anything has happened to your order during transit, please send me an email at lanewayfibres@gmail.com so we can sort things out.
How do I wash my yarn / finished product?
Using a washing machine increases the risk of the yarn or any finished item felting and/or shrinking.
I will always recommend that you hand wash your yarn in cool water with a gentle wool wash, and lay flat to dry. This will help them to last for many more years!
Please note that due to the nature of hand-dyed yarn, a small amount of colour bleeding may occur during the first few washes. You can add a colour catcher or a splash of white vinegar to your wash to help prevent this.
